Beautiful Katana letter opener, some communication delay

I ordered a Katana letter opener as a gift. It's truly a beautiful piece, the craftsmanship is excellent, and it felt very authentic. Delivery took about 10 days to my address in Texas, which was reasonable for international shipping. I had a question about tracking a few days after ordering and sent an email; it took about two days to get a response back, which was a little slow, but they did provide helpful information once they replied. The item itself was worth the wait and the price.

Edo Kiriko glasses arrived safely

I purchased two Edo Kiriko tumblers from Becos. The website was easy to navigate, and the ordering process was straightforward. They packaged the delicate glassware incredibly well; each piece was individually wrapped and cushioned, so nothing broke during transit. Shipping was international, took about 8 days to arrive in New York. The glasses are exactly as pictured, very detailed and feel high-quality. I appreciate the care taken with such fragile items. Customer service didn't need to be contacted beyond the initial order confirmation and shipping updates, which were regular. Overall, a smooth experience.

Good quality, quick delivery

I bought a set of Imabari towels last week. The quality is really nice, very soft and absorbent. They shipped from Japan faster than I expected, only took about a week to get to me in California. Packaging was secure, no issues with anything. I'm happy with this purchase.

Does Becos ever do good sales, like a Black Friday thing? Or is it mostly just small newsletter discounts?

I Ian W. 4 days ago
They definitely have bigger sales sometimes. I remember a good one around Christmas last year, saw up to 30% off on some items. Black Friday is a good bet.

I signed up for their newsletter and got 500 yen off, but they do seasonal stuff. Keep an eye out for holiday sales.

Does anyone know how long shipping typically takes to the US, specifically California? I'm eyeing a sake set for a gift next month.

K Kevin A. 1 week ago
I'm in NYC and my last order for some Arita ware took about 2 weeks. Might be similar for California but it can vary a bit with customs.

Mine arrived in Texas in about 10 days for some kimono robes. They ship from Japan so factor in that international travel time.

Thinking of ordering a Kumano makeup brush set, but what if I don't like it? How easy are returns with this store?

R Richard Flores 1 month ago
I had to return a ceramic vase that arrived with a tiny chip and it was pretty straightforward. Just contact their support and they'll walk you through it. They're good about fragile items.

Yeah, returns were easy, did it last month for some chopsticks I ordered by mistake.

Hey, wondering about authenticity, are these truly handmade Japanese crafts or more like mass-produced stuff with a 'Japanese style' label?

K Karen L. 3 weeks ago
From what I've seen and bought, everything is legit handmade. They even mention on their site they work directly with artisans, so no mass-produced junk.

Yeah, I got a katana letter opener and the detail is insane, definitely not factory-made. You can tell it's the real deal.
